Juvenile Threatens Four Adults And A Minor With Shotgun
LAS CRUCES, NM – Police arrested a juvenile for allegedly threatening four adults and one child with a shotgun early Monday morning.
17-year-old Johnny Burnside, of the 1700 block of Walden in Las Cruces, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, child abuse, negligent use a firearm and for being a minor in possession of alcohol, officials said.
Police were called out to a residence on La Fonda Drive, where they learned Burnside had gotten into an argument with one of the residents. According to investigators, Burnside allegedly left the residence after the argument and then returned with a shotgun. He then threatened four adults and a 2-year-old girl, they added.
Police later found and arrested Burnside in an area close to the residence. Two of Burnside’s friends, 18-year-old Adrian Corral and 16-year-old Enrique Lino, fled the scene but were detained by Police nearby.
Corral and Lino were cited for being minors in possesion of alcohol and Burnside was turned over to the Juvenile Probation Office.
