Residents Of Mowad Area Affected By Storm 2006 Suing City

EL PASO, TX. – Residents of El Paso’s storm-ravaged Mowad area are suing the city.

Two plaintiffs say after the floods hit and their homes were destroyed, the city forced them to move, but didn’t give them the $5,200 dollars in assistance their neighbors got.

They also accuse the city of failing to tell people about other help available. The two specifically charge that the city failed to notify people that assistance was available at all and did not tell people how to apply for assistance.

They further allege that the cityfailed to provide written decisions on assistance applications.
