Two Men Arrested In Connection With West El Paso Robbery
EL PASO, TEXAS – El Paso Police have arrested two men in connection with the Aggravated Robbery of a 66-year-old El Paso man on Monday.
EPPD officials tell ABC-7 they arrested 24-year-old Randall Allen Campa and 18-year-old Julian Diaz, both of El Paso.
Police responded to an Aggravated Robbery call at the Golden Corral Restaurant at 7420 N. Mesa Monday afternoon.
According to police, their investigation revealed that a 66-year-old El Paso resident had approached his vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the Golden Corral where he saw a man inside his vehicle.
Police say the man was then shot in the arm by another suspect who was standing nearby. The victim was then shot again in the face. The two men fled the scene.
On Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at approximately 6:45 p.m. an off-duty El Paso Police officer observed a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the suspects on Monday in the parking lot of Del Sol Hospital at 10301 Gateway West.
Detectives subsequently identified Campa and Diaz as being the individuals allegedly responsible for the crime and they were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
The weapon used to shoot the victim has been identified as a pellet or BB type. Campa and Diaz were booked into the County Jail several charges to include the Aggravated Robbery which carried a bond of $50,000.00 each.
