UPDATE: Apartments Severely Damaged By Water In Central El Paso
EL PASO, TX. – Water, water everywhere, leaving behind a mess in different parts of El Paso!
Several families are still worried about where they’ll be living. Water problems Downtown left a sinkhole, and a big mess and it seems there is no quick solution there, either.
It happened just after10p.m.Thursday night at 800 South Oregon. That’s at the intersection of Oregon and Sixth street. Almost two dozen people still cannot go home Friday evening because of themess.
Caution tape and barriers block off the corner of the building. Water flooded the area aroundthe intersection. Crews worked throughout the night trying to pinpoint the cause of it all, which turned out again to be a water main break.
There was so much water, emergency crews thought the ground might give way. As many as 25 people were evacuated and relocated to Aoy elementary, where they remained through Friday evening. The Red Cross moved in to provide the basic necessities.
At least one apartment unit has been deemed uninhabitable and six other units are being inspected.
