Parties Settle In Lawsuit Against Roark, Hospice

EL PASO, TX. — A wrongful termination lawsuit filed against Hospice of El Paso director Charles Roark was settled on Thursday.

Chali Middleton, a former employee, sued Roark and Hospice. Shecontended she was discriminated against after she allegedly witnessed Roark viewing pornography on a work computer.

Ajury was set to decide the case. Instead, the settlement came in before a verdict was deliberated.

The specifics of the settlement weren’t reported, court officials said.

Roark’s attorney, George Andritsos, said the settlement does not include an admission of any sort. “In fact, Hospice of El Paso denies Ms. Middleton’s allegations,” he said

Roark also serves on theBoard of Trustees for theEl Paso Independent School District. District officials were expected to release a statement on the settlement Thursday evening. Details will be posted when they become available.
