Las Cruces Man Arrested For Alleged Sexual Contact With Minor

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Las Cruces Police arrested a 40-year-old man Friday for an inappropriate sexual incident with a young girl.

Robert E. Sandoval, of Las Cruces, was arrested early Saturday morning after police investigated an incident that took place Friday evening on Boxster Way.

According to Las Cruces Police detectives, Sandoval had illegal sexual contact with a 7-year-old girl. Sandoval is charged with one count of first-degree Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Child under 13 years of age.

Sandoval was arrested and transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Police are still investigating the case. Additional charges against Sandoval are pending.
