El Paso Police Arrest Suspected Bank Robber

EL PASO — Agents with the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force arrested an 18-year old man in connection with a Monday bank robbery at a Chase bank branch in Northeast El Paso.

Victor Munoz III was arrested Tuesday night in New Mexico after investigators with the FBI, U.S. Border Patrol and the El Paso Police Department identified him as a “person of interest” in the case. Investigators said Munoz robbed a Chase Bank branch at 5209 Wren.

A bulletin was distributed to area law enforcement agencies specifying Munoz and a blue Chevrolet pickup truck with Virginia license plates. Munoz was detained at the Border Patrol checkpoint on I-25 and FBI agents took him into custody.

Munoz is due to appear in court in Las Cruces on Thursday.
