Woman Injured In Crash

EL PASO — A 25-year-old local resident was seriously injured in an early morning crash on Saturday in Northeast El Paso.

Crews resonded tothe call around 8 a.m. Officers with the Special Traffic Investigators divisionlocated a woman, identified as Vanessa White, suffering from broken bones and bruises.

Officers said White was driving her 2002 Hyundai Accent northbound on McCombs in the left lane. At that same time, Jose Vasquez, 50, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Van westbound on Regulus. As he approaching the intersection of McCombs, Vasquez failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and entered the path of White’s Hyundai Accent, police said.

The Hyundai’s front end collided with the left side of Vasquez’ van.

Charges are pending against Vasquez, police said.
