Pedestrian Struck By Car
EL PASO — An elderly woman was seriously injured Sundayin a pedestrian crash. Police worked into the evening trying to determine if the woman did not yield to the vehicle that hit her.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. along the 9900 block of McCombs in Northeast El Paso. The victim, identifiedby police only as an 82-year-old woman, was struck in the middle of the street by aminivan.
Emergency crews rushed the woman to Beaumont Army Medical Center where she was listed in serious condition.
Authorities said they will continue to investigate, but they have ruled out speed and alcohol as factors in the crash. Police did not indicate if the driver of the van was facing any charges.
