Flores Indicted In Daughter’s Death
LAS CRUCES — A grand jury indicted Robert Flores on Thursday in the death of his four-month-old daughter, Kalynne.
Flores now faceslife in prison if convicted onan amendedcharge of intentional child abuse resulting in death. The original charge of ‘negligent’ child abuse would have sent Flores to prison for 18 years if convicted.
Police said on Dec. 6, Flores putKalynne in a laundry basket and left her alone at home while he went out to buy beer.
Flores returned and found the babywithout signs of life, but did nothing about it for hours, police said.
The child was pronounced dead later at a local hospital.
