County Commissioner Teran Will Not Seek 4th Term

EL PASO — County Commissioner Miguel Teran announced Wednesday that he will not seek a 4th term in office.
Sources with Teran’s office told ABC-7 that Teran said he will retire after the end of his current term which expires December, 2008.
No reason was given other than his retirement for ending his service with Commissioner’s Court. Teran’s district reaches from El Paso’s Lower Valley from about Riverside High School eastward to El Paso’s county line and north up to Montana Vista.
Earlier this year, Teran’s home and office were searched by the FBI in the ongoing public corruption investigation, though no charges have ever been brought against him.
Teran spearheaded efforts to revitalize the San Elizario Plaza and develop a border crossing entry in the Lower Valley.
