Funeral Monday For Slain Security Guard
EL PASO — Funeral services are scheduled for Monday fora security officer who died in an attack at the Paso Del Norte Bridge,the Downtown port of entry.
The funeral mass for Cruz Vite will be at 9 a.m.at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will followat Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Vite was working on New Year’s Day when he got into a violent confrontation with 29-year-old Pablo Aragon, police said.
Vite collapsed and later died ata localhospital.
Aragon is charged with felony assault after investigators learned Vite had a pre-existing medical condition, ABC 7 has learned.
Officialsare waiting for the results ofVite’s autopsy to determine if Aragon should be charged with murder.
