Early Morning Crash Kills One, Injures 2 Others

EL PASO –One person was killed and two people were injuredearly Tuesday morning when theSUV they were riding inrolled overata LowerValleyintersection, police said.

Investigators at the scene saida Ford Explorer was traveling north on Fonseca around 12:15 a.m. whenthe driver somehow lost control and theSUV rolled over.

A 21-year-oldwoman who may have been in the backseat, was ejected when the vehicle slid on its side, police said. She died at the scene.

Special traffic investigators say the 21-year-old man who was driving and a 16-year-oldgirl who was a passenger in the front seatwere both wearing seatbelts. Emergency crews rushedthem to Thomason Hospitalwith non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they believe the driver may have been drinking and could be facing manslaughter charges.

Fonseca was closed in both directions from Sabine to Delta so commuters were being rerouted away from the area.
