‘Death List’ Placed On Juarez Police Memorial
JUAREZ — A new document may become part of an investigation by Chihuahua State Police of escalating violence in the border town.
Two Juarez police officials were gunned down earlier this week, andanother officials remainsat Thomason Hospital in El Paso, where he is receiving treatmentfor five gunshot wounds.
An apparent “death list” may now be evaluated in the context of the investigation. According to the Web site arrobajuarez.com, the hand written note was discovered at a police memorial.
On the note — written in Spanish — are the names offour murdered officials as well as a list of additional names. At the top of the list are the words: “For those who did not believe.” Under that statement the names of the murdered officials are listed.
Also on the note is another message and a longer list of names, with the heading, “For thosewho continue without believing.” Thelist featuresthe names of 17 people.
