Known Drug Lord Released In El Paso
One of Mexico’s most feared drug cartel bosses is a free man, ABC 7has learned.Francisco Rafael Arellano-Felix is the oldest brother in the Tijuana drug cartel.
He was released in El Paso, according to news sources in San Diego. Arellano-Felix’s organization is one known to be battling it out for turf in Juarez.
Arellano-Felix was sentenced to11 years in 1993 for drug possession and weapons charges.
What is unclear is whether his release will bring about more violenceinJuarez.
More than 100 Mexican federal police officers are in Juarez working to secure the city after a rash of bloodshed since the new year.
