Man Indicted On Child Porn Charges
by Martin Bartlett
EL PASO — The El Paso Independent School District employee arrested last week on child pornography charges has now been indicted. Fernando Parra, 31, was arrested on those charges by FBI agents on Thursday.
Parra has also been linked to the federal on-going public corruption investigation, but an FBI spokeswoman wouldn’t say if these pornography charges stem from that larger investigation.
A copy of the indictment obtained by the ABC-7 I-Team indicates that Parra allegedly received Internet videos of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
As part of the indictment, federal prosecutors demanded that Parra give up two personal computers and four hard drives.
Parra was expected this afternoon in Federal Court for a hearing to set his bond.
Federal prosecutors had asked that he be held without bond.
After his arrest last week, the judge told Parra he faces more than 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he is found guilty of the crimes.
