Texas Fire Investigators Viewing Hours Of Videotape
AUSTIN (AP) – Investigators are viewing dozens of hours of video surveillance tapes that they say helped them determine someone set the Texas Governor’s Mansion afire.
State Fire Marshal Paul Maldonado said Monday investigators still aren’t able to say where in the 152-year-old mansion the weekend fire began. Canine teams are starting to search through debris in the structure to look for signs of fire accelerant.
A national response team from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also was joining the investigation.
Officials are indicating that so far their evidence of arson has come from surveillance cameras and interviews with people who were near the mansion.
