Help Is Available To Jobless After Restaurants Close

EL PASO – Help is now available for those who lost their job after the closing of Bennigan’s and Steak N’ Ale restaurants.

Bennigan’s at 10497 Gateway Blvd. and Steak n’ Ale at 1000 Magruder were shut down and the staff that was affected can obtain assistance from the Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande at no cost.

Employees that were affected by the closing are advised to file for unemployment insurance with the Texas Workforce Commission then seek rapid response services through Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande.

According to a spokeswoman, Upper Rio Grande was not notified of the closures, but they are still able to provide help.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice is often sent to workforce development boards across Texas, but is not required in instances involving a layoff of less than 50 full-time employees, according to Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande.

Upper Rio Grande can also help with resume preparation and interviewing skills.
