Update: Airway Extension
El Paso, TX — A study on a plan to extend Airway Boulevard to the Border Highway is complete.
Western Refining paid for the study.
Western wants the City to consider closing Trowbridge through the middle of its refinery.
Now the city wants your input.
The first of two community meetings is set for tonight.
The meeting starts at 6:00 pm at the San Juan Recreation Center at 5701 Tamburo Court in central El Paso.
The second meeting will be next week at the same time at Ascarate Elementary School.
The process is far from over.
City leaders say it could be another decade before the extension is actually completed.
