EL PASO — In less than 24 hours, the Ruiz family will lay eyes on their brand new home!
Sunday, large crowds showed up to watch the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team put some last-minute touches on the Lower Valley home.
Landscapers finished up work in the front yard and installed a fountain. Spectators couldn’t believe how quickly the work was being done.They say the progress is nothing short of amazing.
“We are amazed,” said Monique Cook, “We did not think they could actually build a house inseven days, but they proved us wrong.”
Monday will be the big reveal day, also known as “Move that bus” day. Crewsare asking all spectators topark at Abundant Living Faith Center and take the shuttle to the construction site.
Businesses in the Borderland said the show has really made its mark on the local economy. In turn, production officials said the amazing work on the dream home would not have been possible without the help of local businesses.
“I haven’t seen this. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this,” said City Representative Emma Acosta, talking about thethe outpour of help to put together a nearly million dollar project.
