EXTREME MAKEOVER DAY 8: ‘Move That Bus’ Day
EL PASO, Texas –Thousands cheered “move that bus” as the Ruiz family got their first look at their new home in the Lower Valley about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The Ruiz family arrived in a white limousine, fresh from a week-long vacation in the Bahamas. Jesus and Maria Ruiz’s two children exited the limo first, followed by their parents. Maria Ruiz immediately began embracing members of the crowd.

The housewas turned over to the Ruiz family during of the show’s signature “Move that Bus” scene.
It was only one week ago that the Ruiz’s old home stood at the spot where the new one new stands. On Sunday painting and landscaping were finished on the two-story Spanish-style home, and water flowed from a new fountain in front of the house.
Monday morning crews appeared to be adding finishing touches on the home’s interior, such as hanging picture frames and decorations. A basketball court also looked to be going up outside.
