Border Patrol Arrests Man Wanted In Santa Fe Murder

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – Border Patrol agents in El Paso have arrested a man sought in a 2007 slaying in Santa Fe.

Agents say 31-year old Saul Pena-Gonzalez of Mexico was arrested Wednesday night, shortly after crossing into the country illegally near the Bridge of the Americas in El Paso with another man.

The Santa Fe warrant was discovered during processing and identification of the men. Pena-Gonzaleswill nowbe extradited to New Mexico.

Santa Fe police issued an arrest warrant against him in July 2007 after 26-year-old Noe Gonzalez was found shot to death in a bowling alley parking lot. Police have said the two men are cousins.
