Man Arrested For Allegedly Shoplifting From Sears Store

EL PASO, Texas — A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for aggravated robbery after he allegedly shoplifted tools and cameras from a Sears store, El Paso police said.

Police said 42-year-old Jesus Villalobos of the 1400 block of Cedar Oak entered the Sears store at Sunland Park Mall just before 4 p.m. He allegedly took tools and cameras and left the store without paying for them.

A store employee stopped Villalobos outside the store, and Villalobos allegedly threw a camera at the employee and started running, police said.

Three loss prevention employees ran after Villalobos, and he allegedly threatened them with a razor. The employees caught up with Villalobos and held him while officers arrived.

Villalobos was taken into custody by police and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three outstanding traffic warrants.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a bond of $65,561.
