Emergency Crews Rescue Stranded Mountain Biker

Emergency crews rescued a mountain biker after he became stranded in the hills of the Franklin Mountains Sunday.

According to emergency dispatchers, both the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and rescue team as well as the City of El Paso’s Combined Search and Rescue Team (ComSAR) responded in rescuing the 46-year-old man Sunday afternoon.

ABC-7 has learned the biker suffered a knee injury and was stuck between some rocks. His family alerted authorities when he failed to show up for a birthday party.

The rescue took several hours, but crews managed to bring the man down to safety.

In addition, sources at the scene said two rescuers riding on ATVs rolled over while trekking through the terrain, but did not suffer any major injuries and will be all right.
