EP Electric Files To Decrease Customer Bills

EL PASO, Texas — El Paso Electric is requesting that the Public Utility Commission stop a fuel surcharge for its customers that was supposed to continue until March of next year, utility officials said.

A second surcharge is already set to expire in April. The average customer would save $4.16 from their monthly electric bill starting in May if the request is approved.

The request is due to the drop in natural gas prices in recent months.
