Ex-Employee Of Risotto’s Says Last Paycheck Bounced
EL PASO — Some employees laid off when Risotto’s Bistro closed now say they have a new worry — they say their last paychecks are bouncing.
“I got paid and I went to go cash my check and they told me my previous check got returned,” said Nina Macias. “And they said that would be my responsibility because I’m the one that took them the check.”
We talked to the county attorney’s office who says whoever signs the paycheck is responsible if it doesn’t clear.
However, if you deposit in your account and then write a check that bounces, officials say you’re responsible.
