Diablos Hold Baseball Clinic For Bliss Kids
EL PASO — Baseball is America’s past time, but for some El Paso kids whose parents are deployed, its a great way to pass the time.
“It takes our minds off our dads being gone and puts them on other things like fun, like this,” said baseball fan, Zachary Sipple.
This weekend, players from the El Paso Diablos showed up to Kelly Park on Fort Bliss to hold a baseball clinic.
Kidslike Zachary who took part have at least one parent deployed over seas and say they were happy to learn how to hit, pitch and run from these minor league players.
The players said they learned something too.
“It’s a tough time in their lives and they’re out here having a little fun with us, maybe it’s something they’ll remember for a long time,” said Diablos player, Dave Whighan.
Balfour Beatty communities helped put on the clinic.
