Former Naked Harem Patrons Testify In Trial Of Club’s Co-Owner

EL PASO, Texas — Day 2 of the trial of the co-owner of the former Naked Harem Strip Club brought out more graphic and detailed testimony of sex acts that are suspected of taking place at the club.

Jeannie Coutta is accused of promoting prostitution and engaging in organized crime.

After sitting through 12 long hours Monday, on Tuesday the jury listened to more explicit details. The majority of the testimony came from male customers of the club and female dancers who have all been called as witnesses for the prosecution.

The witnesses provided vivid accounts of oral sex acts, full intercourse and various admissions of pay-for-sex practices that allegedly took place at the Naked Harem.

One of the male witnesses said he knew he could have sex with dancers from what they told him.

“She told me we can go to the VIP room, and we can do anything. She said we could have sex. We started with oral sex then we engaged in intercourse.”

Another male patron said he spent about $50,000 in drugs and sex at the Naked Harem between 2001 and 2003.

Andaformer dancer told the jury, “It was kind of hard to sit in the club and not know what was going on.”

The defense seems to be shifting the prostitution blame not on the club owner but rather on the dancers themselves. They said the dancers set up the pay-for-sex private encounters at the club.

“I don’t call it having sex. I was making love and the money I made, I used to do my nails and buy things,”testified former dancer CeliaGarcia.

Off-camera, Coutta told ABC-7 she is very upset with her defense attorney Gary Hill. Coutta said they have several things to discuss because she doesn’t think her defense is putting its best foot forward.
