Socorro Bulldogs Honored With Parade

SOCORRO, Texas — It’s the kind of party El Paso hasn’t seen in 60 years!

When the Socorro Bulldogs brought home a state championship title, they paraded into the history books and on Monday a parade was in order.

The festivities kicked off at Alameda and Horizon and ended at the high school.

But the celebration didn’t stop.

Forbes Field on the campus of Socorro High School was completely packed, thousands of people turned out to recognize the state champs.

Fans cooked out there and the fun was followed by a special presentation honoring the Bulldogs.

Then a fireworks show lit up the sky and everyone headed home…but the fun is far from over.

The El Paso Diablos play on Wednesday and will honor the Bulldogs.

Head coach Chris Forbes will even get to test his arm…he’s expected to throw the ceremonial first pitch of the game!throw out the first pitch.

Then on Satrurday, El Paso’s indoor football team, the Generals, will honor the winners as well.
