Fort Bliss Brigade To Deploy To Iraq
FORT BLISS, Texas — The 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division stationed at Fort Bliss will deploy to Iraq starting in the fall, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.
The deployment is part of a rotation in Operation Iraqi Freedom involving30,000 personnel.
According to Fort Bliss officials, there areabout 3,800 soldiers in the brigade combat team being deployed.
The unit is tasked with conducting full spectrum operations, whichmeans they have a wide variety of missions, including but not limited to street patrols.
