Flash Flood Watch Issued For West Texas, Southern NM

EL PASO, Texas — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for southern New Mexico and far west Texas through Friday afternoon.

The watch includes the El Paso, Hudspeth, Dona Ana, Otero, Luna, Sierra, Hidalgo and Grant counties.

A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected, with rainfall amounts possibly exceeding two inches in some places. In El Paso, the forecast for Thursday night includes a 40 percent chance for thunderstorms.
