Officials Identify Those Killed In Juarez Massacre

JUAREZ — Officials with the Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office identified the 16 people killed at the “Aliviane” drug rehabilitation center in the Colonia Bella Vista Wednesday night.
The victims were identified as José L. Herrera, Oscar Huerta, Juan P. Esquivel, Jesús Gallegos Esquivel, 46; Sergio Alberto Rueda, LuÃs G. Gutiérrez Quintero, Jaime Noe Cuevas Baeza, 26; Carlos Felipe RamÃrez, 23; MartÃn Soto, Jaime Pérez Morales, 17; Marco Antonio Castro Quintero, 20;Andrés Quintero GarcÃa, 17; José LuÃs Salas Gómez, 24;Juan MartÃn MartÃnez Joel Tinajero, 51; and Fernando Cisneros Roacho.
Investigators are still trying to confirm the ages of some of the victims. The Associated Press is reporting 17 people were killed and another five were wounded.
According to witnesses, a group of armed gunmen entered the rehab center, located at 1243 Uranio,with a death list. The hitmen then asked some of the patients at the rehab center for their names, checked them off on their list, and then escorted them to a hallway. That’s where they were all lined up against a wall and shot execution style, officials said.
The center is located near the intersection of Dalias and Violetas streets a couple of blocks away from the Santa Fe International Bridge.
Three other people were injured during the shooting and were rushed to the General Hospital. They were identified as Fernando Ramos Urquiza, David Meléndez Jasso, and Abraham Portillo Abasta. Their conditions are not known at this time.
