Police: Teen Breaks Into Apartment Complex, Assaults 2 Residents

EL PASO — Police officials say an Central El Paso teenager allegedly broke into an apartment complex and assaulted two residents shortly before Noon Saturday.

Daniel Enrique Zuniga, 18, of the 4400 block of E. Yandell, is charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Felony, Burglary of a Habitation, and Evading Arrest. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $26,000 bond.

According to police investigators, Zuniga gained entrance into an apartment complex on the 1100 block of E. Rio Grande by assaulting an individual at the main entrance. He then allegedly raninto an apartment at the complex and began to assault an individual inside.

Police say, the two alleged victims fought back and Zuniga eventually ran away. Police officials say apolice officer spotted Zuniga changing shirts in an alley a short while later. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
