Update: Police ID Woman Killed In Early Morning Motorcycle Crash

El Paso Police are investigating an early morning crash that killed one person and left another with serious injuries.

Police identified the dead woman as 26-year-old Erica Rivera of the 10700 block of Gemstone.

Kevin Dorman, 35, of the 5700 block of Will Ruth was driving the motorcycle with Rivera as the passenger around 3:30 a.m. on the 11000 block of Railroad Drive in Northeast El Paso.

The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed in to a barbed wire fence which caused both riders to be thrown from the motorcycle. Rivera suffered serious head injuries and died at University Medical Center.

Dorman suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Rivera and Dorman were not wearing helmets

Investigators have not determined the cause of the accident and they do not know if alcohol was a factor.

This is the 15th traffic related fatality for 2010 as compared to 11 at this same time in 2009.
