Police Arrest Man After Small Cocaine Bust In Northeast El Paso
A police officer in Northeast El Paso checking up on a man stumbling as he walked through the 5700 block of Fairbanks ended up making a small drug bust.
According to police officials, the police officer approached Christopher Long, 25, to see if he was okay.
Long allegedly tried to hide a black baggie in his pockets and told the officer to “be cool,” according to police officials. Long then tried to run away but was quickly detained by the officer after a short struggle, police officials added.
The officer noticed Long was drunk and found almost eleven grams of cocaine inside the plastic baggie that he allegedly attempted to hide from him. The cocaine had a street value of more than $1,600, according to police officials.
Police officers booked Long into the county jail on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest. Long’s bond was set $30,000.
