Man Shot With Taser During Suspected Fight With Sheriff’s Deputies
A man was arrested after authorities said he tried to punch El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies.
Sheriff’s officials said just after 3:00 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a to a family violence call in Westway, Texas.
Deputies reportedly heard a scuffle inside the home, then saw a man run into a back bedroom and close the door.
Investigators said they have identified that man is 32-year-old Rafael Diaz Jr.
When deputies got inside the room, they said Diaz allegedly punched at them. Deputies said they used a Taser to control Diaz.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on assault charges.
