Motorcycle Crash Victim Was Morehead Cheerleading Coach
As a cheerleading coach, her life was full of smiles and laughs.
But Donna Montelongo’s life would come to an end after a late night motorcycle crash less than one mile from her school.
Montelongo, a mother of two and special education teacher at Morehead Middle School, died Thursday. The crash, police say, happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday night on Mesa between Paragon and Argonaut.
Former students tell ABC-7 Montelongo was riding with her husband. At last check, he remained in serious condition.
“She would do anything for us,” said one of Montelongo’s former Morehead cheerleaders, fighting back tears. “She’ll be greatly missed.”
“You could come to her with anything,” said another girl. “She could be your best friend, your sister, your mom…”
The El Paso School District says grief counselors will be on hand Friday for the last day of class at Morehead.
Montelongo leaves behind an adult son and a daughter who attends Coronado High School.
Police have yet to release a cause for the crash.
