Bicyclist Struck By Car In May Has Died

A 51-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in West El Paso on May 6 has died today.

Ruben Lemus, 51, of Anthony, New Mexico was riding his bicycle in the 7300 block of South Desert Sunday evening when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. Lemus was wearing a helmet and did have a flashing red light mounted on the rear of his bicycle.

No arrests have been made in the collision.

El Paso Police’s Special Traffic Investigation unit continues to investigate the hit-and-run collision. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this collision to call police at 915.832.4400 or to remain anonymous to call Crime Stoppers at 915.566.8477.
