Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Soliciting Sex From Minor Online

The El Paso Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit, assisted by the El Paso office of the FBI, have arrested a New Mexico teacher on charges of online solicitation of a minor with intent for sexual contact.

Terry Jimenez, 61, of the 1000 block of Southwestern in El Paso, was arrested Monday morning after an investigation that began in May.

Detectives, posing as a 15-year-old girl, were allegedly solicited for sex acts by Jimenez on several occasions during the course of the investigation. Officers arrested Jimenez as he arrived at a pre-arranged meeting point in El Paso to meet with the underage girl for the purpose of having sexual contact with her.

This case did not involve any students of Jimenez or the district he works for.

Jimenez was booked in to the El Paso County Detention Facility and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
