Driver In High-Speed Pursuit Seriously Injured Following Crash

A high-speed pursuit in east El Paso County left one man seriously injured and investigators looking for other suspects.

The pursuit ended on Socorro Road and Serenata Drive in San Elizario shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Witnesses said they saw a DPS officer attempting to pull over a man who was driving a Ford Mustang. According to one witness, the Mustang’s driver didn’t stop, and allegedly sped off.

That’s when he lost control of the car and rolled over. The driver, who was hurt badly, was taken to an area hospital.

Witnesses also said three other people were in the Mustang and ran away when the car crashed.

When ABC-7’s camera crew arrived at the scene, the Department of Public Safety had closed the street, and DPS officials there did not release any more information as of early Sunday morning.
