Explosive Device Found In Central El Paso

El Paso Police and an explosives squad were called out to a Central El Paso home Monday morning because an explosive device was found.

The device was found at a home in the 3800 block of Memphis.

Residents were kept away from the scene initially. A former Air Force member bought the house and was cleaning it up so he could re-sell it.

In the garage, he found what appeared to be an en explosive device and called police and they called the Fort Bliss bomb squad.

It turns out the device was a practice round rocket-propelled grenade, so it did not carry explosives.

The area has been deemed safe.
