Deputies Raid Sparks Home, Arrest Burglary Suspects
The El Paso Sheriff’s Strike Team says they’ve busted a burglary ring operating in Sparks near Horizon City.
Deputies raided a home near Jeremiah Drive Wednesday afternoon, removing items they say were stolen during a string of burglaries beginning last November.
The recovered property consisted of sofas, cabinets, chairs and even a barbecue grill.
Investigators say undercover surveillance led them to a group of individuals led by Victor Gomez, 29 of Sparks.
Gomez was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop. He’s charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.
Three other men were taken into custody Tuesday. They are Enrique Escobedo, 27, Jonathan Cadena, 28 and Jesus Orozco, 18.
All three faces theft and other charges.
Investigators tell ABC-7 the group would either sell the stolen items or trade them with other groups for drugs.
