Man And Woman Marry After Being Separated For Over 50 Years
Back February, ABC-7 introduced you to a couple who fell in love more than 50 years ago at Ascarate Park.
After decades apart, and following their reunion, the two were married this weekend.
Elena Zubia and Edward Gonzalez tied the knot Saturday night at the San Juan Senior Center. The two had been separated for more than 50 years after a summer crush that both say remained in their hearts and became a long-lost love.
The newlyweds celebrated along with family and friends, and they aren’t letting their age get in the way of their love coming full circle. “That love has stayed…I’ve never forgot her,” said Edward of Elena.
