New Mexico State Announces Home Football Themes

NM State athletic director Dr. McKinley Boston today announced the main themes for each of the home football game for the 2010 season. Each home game will have a main theme aimed at celebrating the heritage and history of the Mesilla Valley.

“Not only are we excited about the 2010 season on the field, but we are pleased to announce the themes that celebrate this great region,” said Boston. “NM State home football games are for the whole community and these themes exemplify our commitment to using Aggie athletics as a vehicle to promote our community and our university.”

The 2010 season opens with a home game against non-conference foe San Diego State on Sept. 11. This game will feature a strong military presence, as the Aggies will honor the brave men and women in uniform. The Aggies will also feature a special tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks on 9-11.

Returning for the fourth-consecutive season, the Aggies Are Tough Enough to Wear Pink will be featured at the October 9th home game against I-25 rival New Mexico.

The Nov. 13 match-up against Louisiana Tech will be a tribute to diversity. In partnership with NMSU and community organizations, this game will highlight and honor the diversity of the Mesilla Valley.
