Police Offer Free Vin Etching for Your Vehicle

El Paso Police are offering free VIN etching Friday and Saturday. VIN etching is considered a valuable tool against thieves. Your Vehicle Identification Number is printed onto a sticker, applied to your vehicle’s windows, and a special chemical is used on top of it to scratch the number permanently into the surface. Police say since the number will be found on more parts of the car, it makes it less appealing for thieves, who often use stolen vehicles for parts.

Police are offering free VIN etching: Today (Friday) at the AAA office on 655 Sunland Park Dr. from 10am to 2pm Saturday at the Lowe’s on Redd Rd. from 10am to 2pm
