Police: Man Arrested After Impersonating Firefighter Days After Pretending To Be A Cop

First he was arrested for impersonating a police officer. Now he’s been arrested for allegedly impersonating a firefighter, as well.

Last week El Paso Police arrested 21-year-old Jeremy Hernandez after he allegedly tried to pull over an a real undercover officer.

Just days after Hernandez bonded out of jail he was arrested again on charges that he also was going around town posing as a West Valley Fire Dept. volunteer firefighter.

“We don’t know who this guy is and we don’t know what he is capable of,” West Valley Fire Asst. Chief Boyd Smith.

Smith said all volunteer fire departments and police had been keeping an eye out for the allege imposter.

An arrest affidavit stated Hernandez was stopped but not arrested on June 6 on I-10, weeks before his initial arrest.

At thatt time, he was able to convince an officer he was a West Valley firefighter and was let go.

Hernandez was still in jail as of Tuesday night. Police said Hernandez is an Army soldier.
