Police Officers Vote To Hold City To Original Contract

Members of the El Paso Police Association have voted not to negotiate with the city to delay pay raises.

The vote means they will hold the city to the original contract.

The decision was made after a vote by all association members at all regional command centers.

In the past, officers would vote to negotiate on cuts and pay increase holdouts. The city has said if police didn’t delay pay raises then officers may have to take furlough days or the city may have to raise taxes.
