Police ID Man Killed With Bat In Homicide
El Paso Police have identified the man who was killed earlier this month when a man allegedly hit him with a baseball bat.
Frank Edward Jeffrey, 55, of El Paso is the name of the man police said was killed on Aug. 2 by Lorenzo Carreon. Police said Lorenzo Carreon had become enraged in a verbal altercation with Jeffrey inside the apartment and then Carreon allegedly struck him with a bat, causing the his death. Jeffrey’s body was discovered in Carreon’s apartment on S. Tays on Aug. 3 after he told family members he had killed Jeffrey, according to a police report.
Police had trouble identifying Jeffrey and asked for the community’s help by releasing a picture of Jeffrey’s tattoo that said “LINDA” on his forearm.
Carreon has been charged with murder and was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totalling $75,000.
Police said this is the city’s second homicide of the year.
