Manhunt Monday 03/29/10: Gilberto Orozco

This week?s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is an individual wanted for various offenses. The target is GILBERTO OROZCO (35) of San Elizario, TX.

In July 2007, Sheriff?s Investigators received an outcry from a 24 year-old Horizon City woman stating she had been sexually assaulted. Investigators later learned the suspect was GILBERTO OROZCO after he was positively identified in a photo line up. The victim was 5 weeks pregnant at the time of the rape. OROZCO was arrested and bonded out a short time later.

In May 4, 2009- EPPD Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 7000 block of Westwind in reference to a family disturbance in progress. Officers arrived and learned a woman had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. During the investigation, the Victim claimed she had recently broken up with her ex-boyfriend because he was being physically aggressive toward her. The ex-boyfriend was identified as GILBERTO OROZCO. It was later learned OROZCO assaulted his ex-girlfriend because she did not want to smoke marijuana with him. OROZCO was arrested and bonded out a short time later.

May 14, 2009- While working an event at the El Paso County Coliseum, Deputies were flagged down reference an apparent family disturbance in progress. Deputies met with a frantic female victim who told Deputies her ex-boyfriend threatened to take her to Juarez, Mexico & kill her. The Victim claimed her ex-boyfriend identified as GILBERTO OROZCO tricked into getting into his Ford Excursion ?to talk? when an argument ensued & he then violently held her against her will. The Victim stated OROZCO was upset because she would not drop the assault charges she filed against him earlier that month. The Victim tried to to escape as OROZCO attempted to drive off. OROZCO grabbed the victim by the legs as she was trying to get out of the vehicle. OROZCO lost his grip and the victim managed to get out and ran barefoot through the parking lot toward the main building of the Coliseum. OROZCO pursued the victim yelling at her to stop, telling her she would regret running from him. The Victim made it into the Coliseum to ask for help. OROZCO was arrested and bonded out a short time later.

November 2009- OROZCO?s ex-girlfriend contacted authorities stating her ex-boyfriend GILBERTO OROZCO has continued to contact her & threaten to ?kill her? if she does not drop the charges for both May 2009 incidents. The Victim currently has a protective order against OROZCO until September 2010.

Charges have since filed against OROZCO for this recent offense & he also failed to appear in court for all above mentioned offenses.
