Students Head Back To Class

The start of a new school year can be very challenging for students and their parents.

That’s why both parents and students alike at El Paso’s Valle Verde Early College High School said they’ve been preparing for the return to classes all summer long.

Jennifer Butterfield has two teenagers that attend the school. The high school is a specialized one tailored towards helping academically advanced high school students graduate with both a high school diploma, and a college associates degree at the same time.

“You just have to pump them up, and keep them motivated,” Butterfield said of the challenge to keep her teens’ minds stimulated during the summer months when school is out.

Students and parents at Valle Verde told ABC-7 some of things they did to prepare for the start of school were enrolling in summer classes, educational summer camps, camps delete comma and plenty of reading. Parents we spoke to agree all those summer activities are key to making sure their children’s minds are on the right wave length when returning to classes.
